Hi Dan,Best ET was a 10.20 and best trap speed was 143.8 mph. Overall we were pleased that the car ran consistently and reliably. We did discover that we are making less boost in 1st and 2nd gears and that may have made us a bit slower thru the 1/8th mile. But the car rocks in 3rd and 4th and I think is faster than the 143 mph indicates. Anyway, we have a few more tweaks and may make another visit to the track at some point in the future. There is a video out there and if I can find the link I will post it. Regards, John

Yeah what happend John ? That's only a 3 MPH gain in your trap speed from what you stated you ran at 7psi and 180 RWHP less ??? Even if you managed ANY additional boost in first and second then hit the full 12PSI in third and fourth your trapspeed should of gained far more than 3 MPH by the traps. P.S. was there any street action on the way there or back ?? ------------------ Kevin D. --- 91' ZR1 Vette

John, Awesome mph indicative of the power of the beast. Curious about the 60' time as well. It's definitely a mid 9's car, if you can get her to hook up. ------------------ Sheyster. 2000 GTS - Steel Gray Pearl - Silver Stripes

Matt, I ran a 10.3 with a 1.66 60 ft. so there is more left in getting a better launch off the line. We were running about 138 mph before.LT - we looked at the clutch after returning from the track and it was pretty much worn out. I didnt notice it slipping at the track, but it could have accounted for being a little slower in the 1/8th. Also, not making full boost in the lower gears effects the 1/8 mile time too. On the big end of the track, the car felt as strong as it did on the street. No action on the way back. Shey, not sure about a mid-9 car, but from a roll I would match it up with any Viper in the world. Still working on a few tweaks and if we get to the track again I'll let you know what happens, Have a good weekend. John

That's better than I thought it would be (the 60'). So you're attributing the high (if you can call it that) ET to lack of power in 1st and 2nd? How's traction when you hit 2nd and 3rd? ------------------ Sheyster. 2000 GTS - Steel Gray Pearl - Silver Stripes Web Site: www.sdvipers.com "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." F.D.R. I also got a ride in this incredible machine. It felt very smooth and very fast. With a little tweaking, no doubt this machine will be in the 9's! Thanks for the ride, John!

This is the whole reason why I have been skeptical about doing any engine work on my car. I have talked to a few people over the holidays on doing some major work on my car, but some tuners won't return your phone calls, or just claim to have X amount of power and can't run any serious track times. Also living in LA has been no help what so ever. ------------------

Peanuts, Modifications to the Viper is a great thing. You are right to beware of some tuners, so you just have to be really careful about who you pick. There are some really great tuners out there. Remember just because a tuner comes online and posts over 900hp for a car does not make him honest or a good business man. Do your homework on this website and email me if you have any questions. Good luck!------------------ Marc Lublin

John, How about putting it up against Norm Koerners LPE ZR1 TT? With 820 RWHP that's gotta be a challenge. Just make sure someone gets it on video so we can all see it. I called Norm out about 10 days ago, still waiting for him to bring his ZR1TT over to the shop. I rode in his car when it had about 100 less hp and its strong for sure. It would be a great match up. I still think the orange car will put him down from a 3rd gear roll. If I am wrong then I will be the first to congratualate him!------------------ John Hennessey Texas VCA Member

I agree Matt, but that video won't be complete unless there's a single turbo supra (bryce Dana's) in the backround getting spanked by BOTH cars as their racing each other, hehe

By the way Matt, what size/spec turbos are you running in your 10-sec Stealth ?? ...a 130MPH trapspeed at 3600 ft alt. with a 4000lbs car (with driver)is VERY impressive to say the least. And 22 psi (1.5 bar) isn't too high on the boost either. I bet you have a lot more out of that package. Maybe 25 PSI at a much lower altitude track and a 140 MPH trap isn't out of the question (as long as that tranny stays together ------------------ Kevin D. --- 91' ZR1 Vette

the turbos are GT-368's (custom twins) Yes the car does have alot more in it, Spark blow-out was not alowing me to run any higher boost that day, I am still working on the problm. I too think traps in the 140mph range at 0ft are going to be there with 30psi or so...------------------ Matt Monett www.dynamicracing.com 2000 Viper GTS ACR 11.74@127 at 3600ft (Viper mods, some installed, some not, BTR NOS Belanger Headers, Belanger Exhaust, HF cats, Archer Pulleys, Crower cam, 3.33 gears, Fidanza FW, T&D 1.7 rockers) 95 Stealth RT TT 10.88@129.16mph @ 3600ft with 18psi with a 70hp shot. 10.96@129.96 @ 3600ft with 22psi and No NOS. Don't be too sure that Bryce would get spanked by both of the cars easily. I remember (from the ZR1 Forum) that SW raced one of his friends TTZR1's with his Single Turbo Supra. He said the cars were evenly matched and SW makes about the same power as Bryce. Who knows, Bryce might get beat, but certainly not spanked. I don't mean this to be a flame, just shedding some light on the post.
